Pożyczka Odrodzenia Polski
Date: 1920
Artist: Stanisław Bohusz-Siestrzeńcewicz (1869-1927)
Background: The Constitution Day on May 3 in 1920 was an occasion to carry out the first major campaign to promote the Loan for the Rebirth of Poland, adopted by the Legislative Sejm on February 27, 1920. For the day, the Office of the Propaganda of the State Loans prepared banners and posters.
A poster of the Renaissance Loan was presented, imitating the title page of "Monitor Polski", which was specially prepared to be hung on the day of the Constitution of May 3. The drawing of a trumpeter sitting on a horse against the background of a flag with the national emblem in the central part comes from the poster Loan of the Rebirth of Poland by Stanisław Bohusz-Siestrzeńcewicz (1869-1927), who received the third prize in the loan poster competition held in April this year. Scheduled campaigns to promote the Polish Rebirth Loan took place in larger cities throughout the spring and summer of 1920. They were often combined with the celebration of the Volunteer Army Day or other mass public gatherings.
